This play portrays the idea that freedom is something that we really don't realize how special it is. It means so much to some people, and yet people who have freedom like we think little of how rewarding it is. It is not a given but a prize. Love is one of the themes of Anne Frank. The power of love enables a person to gain hope and live on. For example, Mr. Frank blesses his daughter Anne with great love and Anne seems to rely on her dad for support. This love enabled her to hope and keep her core values and also the power to never become degrade. Good and evil are shown in this play significantly with the Nazis and the betrayer thief representing evil. However Anne writes in her diary that she believes that people are really good at heart. That is true because if it hadn't for Hitler who had brain washed the Nazis to be cold hearted and prejudice against Jews, none of this cruelty from the Nazis would ever have happened. That is why I think good dominates evil because there is good at heart but evil is just from temptations and desires. Hitler had been actually good at heart when he was young but his envying of power had created evil in his heart leading him to be one of the mass murder dictators. A book called Seesaw Girl shows how precious freedom is when the main character can't go outside because she is high ranked and outside is a foul place for a "lady" to be in. She always wants to go outside to see the lives of the citizens and the scenery of mountains and hills. The Bible also depicts a similar idea as Anne Frank. The Pharisees sort of remind me of Nazis because they are containing evil inside and there is no room for sympathy and compassion. Anne Frank says in the play that she thinks there is always some good in everyone's hearts. This idea is supported by biblical reference to Saul. Saul was a foul man like a Nazi but when God enlightened him and shed light in his heart, he became Paul. This goes to show you that there is always room for good in people's hearts and there is absolutely some good in evil people.

Part of your answer is similar to my answer, but I never even thought about connecting your answer to the story from the bible about Paul. Your connection makes sense even though it might have been not easy to make connections. I agree with the part where you wrote that freedom is something special and not noticed easily when you have it.
